London, the city which attract millions of tourists every year coming from any part of this entire and big world just as Paris. I could be the first tourist coming to London but unfortunately I'm not. But anyways, I'm an Asian tourist though. Fortunately that my cousin lives there otherwise I could not go to London every year.
I mean, I just went three times in my life. No three time is nothing, especially when you go there for a weekend, from Friday night to Sunday night. The first time I went there was in 2013; my other cousin and her sister came up with the idea to bring me to London too (not by plane but by Eurostar - for those who don't know what Eurostar is, it's a train. You can book tickets now on Eurostar ! It is not expensive at all ! Hurry up ! You'll never get prices like this anymore if you do not buy it now ! -)
When I got to the destination, the first thought that came out of my mind was that : "Wow, London is an amazing city. It really brights at night - yes because I went there when the sun went down -. Afterwards, I visited some places and there were no litters outside. Streets were all clean."
Now, it's the right time to show you my trip to London.
First arrival : Heathrow Airport
This first arrival at the airport was so funny. I usually go to London with my two cousins. They're 18. Normally, when you're 18, when you pass the security check, you're allowed to. We had to talk for minutes to the customs. They asked me if I had a letter from my parents (I remind you that I'm only 15 now) but obviously, why my parents would write a letter if my other cousins are 18? This was the second time we went there. The first time, they said we were only allowed to pass if there was an adult (18) with us. Why always us? We didn't do anything wrong. But after talking for minutes, we successed in persuading them that there was our cousin who was waiting for us outside. We were safe at that time. We thought our life would be in danger.
Anyways, we arrived safely so this is the most important thing we should think about. My friends would all know that I really love going to airports and took pictures even if it is not necessary. I was shocked, I didn't know that Heathrow Airport was that big. I would think that it was like Orly, a little airport.
I don't know why but I've always loved airports... Maybe because of their size and their duty free haha. You can buy everything you want there : snacks before you board (actually you can carry them with you), in order to make us wait more than we thought and to make us not angry (delays are frequent). It happened to me several times, I was very angry but thanks to duty-free, I could relax a little bit and forget that my flight was delayed.
Day One : Friday night
For those 3 years, when I went to London, our big night tradition is to eat a British dish : FISH & CHIPS. Oh my god, I eat this dish, once a year, not even twice, just once.
I had a taste 3 years ago for the first time, and I fell in love with this amazing food. I cannot explain myself, I cannot say how it tastes. The fries are not like the French fries, it's bigger than that. And the fish, the fish is twice larger than my hand. I was so full after eating this.

We cannot end up here.
The truth is that, after the meal, we always get a dessert such as ice cream, a cake or fruits (if you don't want to gain some weight). Well, there is a special dessert that my cousin made for us everytime we come to her house or when she comes to mine, I made that for her (to welcome her to my house). But as she always comes, I don't make it anymore, I mean just once or twice... Just for fun. The cake, she and I, make is called the "Chocolate Cookie Cake". You can eat it with ice-cream too, especially in summer, when the weather is hot and you need something cold to not be hot... |
I'm sure you all hungry just by reading my blog :). If you want to try doing it, you can find the recipe on Sally's Baking Addiction.
Day Two : Saturday
On Saturday morning, my cousin would always make us an American/British breakfast : bacon, grilled bread, mushrooms and little tomatoes and finally, eggs. Miam ! C'est délicieux ("It's delicious" in English). The day before, she bought bacon and all that stuff to make our breakfast on the next morning. She's the best cousin ever ! So kind haha (Thanks btw my cousin !).To thank her, my cousins and I would always set the table with the forks, knives, etc... We drank orange juice every morning while she drank "her milk tea" (eww, I don't like this kind of beverage in the morning - the tea and the milk always have to be apart, except for the Bubble Tea-).
The first time we ate this was with scrambled eggs and after fried eggs. Both are good, whether you eat with scrambled or fried eggs. Same as the Fish & Chips, as long as the bacon is here and in my belly, I can eat everything with bacon.
Do you know Soho ? This place is kind of really famous where there are many restaurants. So my cousin brought us to a traditional Indian restaurant called "Dishoom". The first time was in London St Pancras and the second one in Carnaby.

I don't care about the place, as long as the food tastes great. It was an opportunity for me to discover new food taste and a new culture : the Indian food. Actually, if you cannot handle spicy food, I would not really recommend you to eat spicy food, just eat things that you can handle well, or else you'll have to drink water during all the meal and you won't really enjoy what you're eating.
Curry and naans are my favorites dishes in the Indian food. My mom used to cook "Vietnamese Curry". It's also good but different from the Indian one. I wish I could cook like my mother, Vietnamese, Korean, French food... I'm learning... It's not that I don't like to cook, I DON'T HAVE TIME TOO.

There were also some drinks but I don't really remember how they were called...
After eating in a wonderful restaurant, I was wondering if we would walk but my cousin said yes, we would walk, a lot, from 2 p.m to 5 p.m. Indeed, she signed us up in a city game called "Hidden City" so that you see new districts in London. The purpose of the game was to find answers from clues the "CEO" gave us by message, and step by step, when you follow their rules, you send them a message and if you get it wrong, you have to find the answer as rapidly as possible because there's a timer (unfortunately, you don't win anything) but it's kind of fun. We also had several breaks during the Hidden City. If we did not have it, we could not see many beautiful places. But, at the end, we were in a rush but, I successed in taking beautiful pictures to make you feel travelling with me.
Actually, the bridge we cross is near Southbank Center and the National Theater. I don't really know the name of this bridge and I don't want to say something wrong in case you could be lost if you go there. I prefer not saying anything than saying something wrong. Southbank Center was the first place we went to. And then, we took the underground to go to other places we were told.
Oxford Circus, I love this place ! My fav' one. Why ? Because there's Coven Garden ! You can find everything you want there ! There is a wide variety of shops like tea shops, perfume shops, ice-cream shops... But, I did not have time to buy something there : too many poeple and it's a little bit expensive. Though, I enjoyed visiting Covent Garden.
